About

about me

Studio Kurē started in the summer of 2013 after I sold my company in telecommunication and made the move from Amsterdam to Rotterdam.

While I decided to take a year off after my move, I signed up for a pottery course. I instantly fell in love with all the facets of ceramics and knew I wanted to do something meaningful, true and honest in my next job to follow. I spent weeks, months, years to practice different kind of techniques and soaking up all the knowledge that I could find about pottery.

now

My work is made in small batches. I have my hand on every single product and everything is made using the potter’s wheel or handbuilding technique in my own studio in Rotterdam, Kralingen.

My work ranges from one of a kind vases to daily functional stoneware tableware and is inspired by the wabi-sabi philosophy with natural forms with soft, muted tones and is reflected in each piece I make.

If you are interested in seeing my work, you can contact me and book a visit my studio by appointment. My work is now mainly sold through my webshop on shop updates happening a couple times a year. These will be announced through my Instagram. You can also sign up to my newsletter to receive notifications on shop updates and events.

For any other general inquiries, please get in touch through my contact form and I will get back to you as soon possible.
